REMEMBER THEM WELL
We were fortunate to share with these
A portion of life’s time and space.
Then, either by accident or disease,
They were taken from this place.
Let us embody and keep alive
The qualities in them we most admired
So that their essence may survive
Long after they have expired.
Remember, as you brush away your tear,
Though it is sad that they are gone,
It is more important they were here
And that their memory lingers on.
If this poem’s message we heed,
As memories in our hearts dwell,
We will say, both in word and deed,
Ah, yes, we remember them well!
